TGIF! What to for this weekend?!
So… Friday, we’ve meet again. The usual happened, drinks after work, and what-is and what-not. I actually finished the week without any mind burrowing puzzles that’s drilling my head for attention for the weekend: work.
I told my colleagues that I am at lost not knowing what to do, for once in a long long while that I don’t know what else to do since almost all other weekends I’d be thinking about the work project and trying to get the ideas and solutions out, readying for next week.
Well, this weekend… the game plan is: 1) check out which retails have the best offer for PS3 Slim. 2) relax or whatever, then going to a BBQ at a friend’s. 3) If got PS3, perhaps checking it out online at PSN to get Final Fantasy VII – finally!
The 1) is pretty much surveyed, EB Games has $598 for PS3 Slim + Little Big Planet/Killzone 2; DSE has $599 for PS3 Slim + Batman Arkham Asylum, Harvey Norman has $595 for PS3 Slim console with 6months+6months deferred Interest-Free payment (and LBP or Killzone 2 for $49 each)… The rest of the retails have them priced at $629+. MightyApe has it at pretty good console-only price of $589 including delivery in NZ but I’d be waiting for delivery… AND I can’t wait (maybe).
Anyhow… I’m gonna reward myself this weekend… stay tuned! Enjoy your weekend and do take care! Don’t drink too much, or drink-n-drive!

Well… this is truly yet another once in the lifetime thing – or even something monolithic enough that it’s once in the whole history of calendar!
It is/was the 9th second of the 9th minute of the 9th hour of the 9th day of the 9th month of the 9th year (of the 2nd millennium).
It is may* be the day that Apple Inc. and Apple Corps are finally coming together after their long history of dispute in the with music label business of the “Apple” branding [Apple Corps vs Apple Computer]. Hopefully all of The Beatles catalogue will be digitally remastered and made available on iTunes.
There’s few rumours and hints that this day is significant for The Beatles as this very day is full of nines – Revolution 9. The Rock Band is announcing The Beatles Rock Band, and said to be released on 9s.
So how was your 9s?
Spooky: 9+9+9+9+9+9 = 54; 5+4=9.
* Perhaps not: EMI Confirms No Beatles in iTunes Store Tomorrow [Gizmodo.com]; However [Engadget.com] The Beatles finally coming to iTunes, according to Yoko Ono.
And what’s happening on the twitterverse with “Beatles“…
Father’s Day poem – Here’s To The Fathers
Original is at ZM Online.
Here’s to the fathers, who always begin,on the outside of children, but looking in.
Such curious men snapping cameras like mad, recording the moment, they turn into “Dad.”
Here’s to the fathers, who put in their time, who don’t say to mother’s ‘that’s your job, not mine’.
Who wipe chins and noses and never say “won’t”, who do with the diapers, what some fathers don’t.
Here’s to the fathers who manage to stay when so many fathers are turning away.
When so many run, leaving families to rot, here, then, a cheer, for those who do not.
Here’s to the fathers whose big money dreams die in the comer while their baby screams.
And yet without anger, dread or regrets, they comfort the child, hold it close to their chests.
And as the child grows, they grow with it too, learning a depth that they never knew.
And soon they are older, their hair slightly gone, chasing two children around the front lawn.
Or car-pooling teams to Little League games, buying them hamburgers after it rains.
They mend broken dolls and fix broken wheels, they cringe when their daughters try their first pair of heels.
They reach in their pockets, but never keep count, they pay dear for parenthood – awful amounts.
They postpone their plans to sail across seas, instead they sing “Barney” and bandage skinned knees.
Here’s to the fathers who get off the phone ,to hear their sons practice their new saxophone.
Who leave work to see their daughter’s recital – here’s to the heroes, who work without title.
For this is a world now full of neglect, with everyday stories of lives that are wrecked.
Of fatherless children who take up with guns, to kill other children of fatherless sons.
Divorce shattered families, childhood’s derailed, mothers still waiting for checks still un-mailed.
You wonder what wrongs these souls ever did to make a grown man turn away from his kids.
So here’s to the fathers who won’t compromise, who see a light shining in their children’s eyes.
And feel a rare glow as if from a gem and know that once someone saw this glow in them.
For all the good boys they have raised in the world, for all the examples they set for their girls
For all the loved children whose stories they’ll tell, Here’s to the father’s that taught them so well.
Happy Father’s Day!
It’s a very nice poem and as I heard it on the radio this morning on ZM Online with The Morning Crews. Polly was reading it and it was filled with so much love.
It reminds me of how much we missed our dad, and with the loss of our mom in early May… we couldn’t help to feel that we’re orphans without parents.
We miss you Dad and Mom…
Gone mobile friendly…
I’ve spotted this neat WordPress plug-in that allow your blog to be displayed in its bare essential, minimalistic way that’s friendly to your mobile audience. It created by Crowd Favorite, whom brought us the wonderful tool like Twitter Tools. So I went ahead and gave WordPress Mobile Edition a try and seems like it’s working quite nicely. The theme used for the mobile friendly is Carrington Mobile – which is based on Carrington Blog by alexkingorg.
Facebook Mobile is working on Vodafone NZ!!
Yesterday I blogged about Facebook Mobile coming to Vodafone NZ, and just today, a posted comment mentioned that “Its working now.” Sure enough, it is working and I have set mine up.
Kudos on Vodafone NZ for keeping on-par with Telecom NZ’s offering of social network features.
Facebook mobile coming to Vodafone NZ?
Just doing my usual Facebook thing and thought to explore around my settings and checking out Facebook Mobile section (again). I have known that Facebook Mobile has long since been available for Telecom NZ customers but not quite there for Vodafone NZ yet, or is it?
WordPress upgrade 2.8.4
Looks like there’s another WordPress Security Release, details can be found at WordPress 2.8.4 Security Release post. And if you’re attempting to do a manual upgrade for your self-hosted WordPress, or the automatic upgrade system doesn’t work for you – may be due to some limitation of your webhost – be sure to read my earlier post in regards to how to perform a manual WordPress upgrade.
Good luck, and remember to backup your database and/or contents.
And then it’s back again!
A couple of days ago, Nambu has announced their tr.im service. Then today, they’re announced that tr.im has been resurrected back to service. What gives?!
Nambu has ended tr.im service
Any blogger, tweep or savvy internet user et al will know and understand what a URL shortening is. tr.im is one of those provider and sadly to say Nambu has decided to terminate its tr.im service, effectively immediately.

It may seem odd but it’s quite an interesting and weird thrill to life.
I have lived through the 12th hour, 34th minute and 56th second on the 7th day of 8th month of 9th year (of 2nd millenium).
The world still ticking along… nothing weird or strange had happened… life still the same the second before, and the second after… oh well.
